Most people who pick this one up die way too fast the first few runs, and it's usually because they walk in a straight line toward the target like it's a normal action game. Don't. Hug the shadows, use crates and walls to break line of sight, and watch the flashlight cones before you commit to a move. The hunters carry automatic shotguns and they will absolutely shred you if you wander into open ground, so patience actually beats speed here, at least early on. Once you start collecting gold from taken-down enemies, dump it straight into speed and power upgrades since those two stats basically decide whether later levels feel fair or brutal. Grabbing keys along the route matters too, they unlock extra rewards and sometimes new characters, so it's worth a short detour even mid-mission.

Difficulty ramps up steadily rather than spiking out of nowhere, which is nice, though by the later stages you're juggling multiple patrol routes and flashlight sweeps at once, and one careless dash can undo a clean run. Story-wise it's simple: you're an assassin working for an organization, taking out hunters one by one to earn rewards and unlock more skilled characters. Nothing complicated, just mission after mission of hunting the hunters before they hunt you back.
