About Afsod

Enterprise-grade image file transformation, lifted out of an agency back office. Afsod was assembled in Berlin by an image-automation team that needed a uniform, audit-friendly way to ship product imagery to dozens of European marketplaces. The properties that matter at that scale are now exposed, in a deliberately quiet way, through the public converter you see here.

Properties an enterprise pipeline must have

Three things separate a real pipeline from a hobby tool: reproducibility, auditability and failure isolation. Reproducibility means the same input plus the same settings produces the same byte stream out, today and next month. Auditability means each output is traceable to its source via deterministic identifiers. Failure isolation means a corrupt file in a batch fails on its own and does not abort the rest of the run. Afsod has all three.

How procurement sees the tool

Filenames carry a SHA-256 prefix derived from source bytes plus conversion settings. The conversion parameters round-trip via the download URL itself, so a procurement reviewer can replay the operation tomorrow with no metadata external to the URL. Sensitive options sit behind an “advanced” panel that is appropriate for procurement reviews but invisible to a casual user.

Marketplace conformance

Most of our larger users are agencies and merchants who list the same product across several European marketplaces with conflicting image policies. Afsod is shaped for that pattern: ship one canonical source, derive deterministic exports per marketplace, archive the SHA-256 prefix in your asset-management database. The advanced panel exposes per-marketplace presets for clients who license the bespoke tier.

Data protection by jurisdiction

Afsod processes image content under the EU GDPR and the German Bundesdatenschutzgesetz. Working files are removed within twenty-four hours by a sweeper that runs on every request; we do not retain hashes, thumbnails or analytics copies. We sign a written Data Processing Agreement at no extra cost for German Gewerbe and EU customers; talk to the contact desk if you need one.

Funding model

The public Afsod tier is supported by reputable display advertising. The enterprise tier is licensed separately. We do not accept payment to feature specific marketplaces or brands inside the public tool, and the editorial blog is unaffiliated from advertiser inventory. The lines are drawn deliberately so that procurement reviewers do not have to ask awkward questions.
